loot

I turned 32 last Monday and was delighted by the birthday loot. I got a delightful smattering of gifts that were a surprise! I remember lining up all my gifts on Christmas and just looking them over. I'm tempted to engage in that tradition right now.

I was gifted a Keurig machine and have quickly gone through many a good cup of hot cocoa and tea. I'm saving the coffee for the coffee lover's visit to my house and even have heavy whipping cream in the fridge.

I was given two Chic-fil-a gift cards. Many people know how close Chic-fil-a is to my house and I love almost everything served at the restaurant. Regular chicken? Yes. Nuggets? Absolutely. Spicy chicken? Hell to the yes. Salads and wraps? Thank you for the healthy options. Waffle fries and ice cream? If only I could indulge daily.

I was given a gift card to Jeni's splendid ice creams. The cherry cobbler sundae really did change my life and the Riesling poached pear sorbet was the most refreshing of any sorbet I've ever tried.

I was given one of the most beautiful recipe-filled-magazines I've ever seen. This summer blueberry crumble looks divine along with every other recipe hidden inside the glossy pages.

I had two friends visit right around my birthday and Natalie brought beautiful blue bottles for vases or olive oil and Amy brought the spiciest chips I've ever eaten (love them!), fresh salsa, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Debbie and Bill brought a strawberry cake and I shared a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake with my birthday buddy (friend's little boy who shares the same birthday as me).

Jared gifted me a massage a month for mother's day/birthday and I look forward to that treat for days and weeks in advance.

I was also given some cold, hard cash which rocks my socks off. I'm trying to figure out how to spend it. It is definitely not just going towards gas and groceries!

Jared and I are constantly around generous people who fill our lives with laughter, time, and thoughtfulness.
