The nice thing with a blog is that if the reader gets tired of the content, he or she can stop visiting the site. With that comfort in my mind, I give you another batch of Hunter photos.
He is changing daily, getting bigger and chunkier and more grown-up.
He is a happy little boy who loves to smile upon waking and has taken to throwing me huge smiles in the middle of the night when I get up to feed him. It makes the disruption in sleep not nearly so painful when he is so delighted to see me.
Hunter loves human contact and is content to lean against me and kick and look around. He starts to get bored now if left without companionship or something interesting to look at.
We have just returned home from our last trip to Birmingham while I'm on maternity leave. We've had a wonderful time being home for a week and then on "vacation" for a week at Grandma and Pop's house. Now I have three weeks of maternity leave left and lots of visitors headed my way.
While in Birmingham I was blessed to see Melissa and get back in the kitchen with her. We made peaches and cream stuffed French toast that was delicious and featured our freshly purchased peaches from Pepper Place.
We also got to introduce Hunter to his great-grandfather (Jared's Father's Father). Hunter threw him a huge smile and continues to be as intrigued as I am that he has two great-grandfathers and no grandfathers. It was a sweet moment and I simply long for the missing generation.
The joys of having a child continue to increase as Scout gives Hunter sweet lick kisses and Jared makes Hunter laugh when doing superman over his head. However, there are times when I think "No one ever mentioned this!" when I discover things like milk blisters (Oh my goodness, the pain!) or when the day is half gone and I'm still hoping for clean hair. I used to long to get home and pull on my PJ's and now I love a day with a cute outfit and curled hair. Isn't the grass always greener?! Hunter is napping in my arms and Jared just returned from the grocery store. I've only been to the grocery 2-3 times the last 3 months!
I hope your holiday weekend is safe and full of joy!
