We had more visitors. I dig living in Nashville for many reasons. The restaurants are fun, delicious, and fresh. The sites are plentiful and exciting. There is always something to do and visitors make us get out of the house and go do the fun thing.
Josh and Melissa both arrived from Birmingham. We spent Saturday evening as a foursome having dinner at Whiskey Kitchen and cheering on the Predators at the Bridgestone Arena. There is no dessert quite like a buttermilk funnel cake covered in powdered sugar eaten surrounded by fans cheering on a fight on the ice.
Speaking of dessert, Melissa introduced me to the Cadbury creme egg a few years ago and I impatiently wait for them each year. They come in various flavors and sizes, but the classic is the winner. There is something holy, shall I say, about the little chocolate covered cream filled egg that is only available in the Easter months.
In still other dessert news, I've had some excellent popsicles from Las Paletas over the last week. I had the hot chocolate chili, blueberry lime, and strawberry cream. So many flavors, so little time.
Melissa and I wandered over the Leiper's Fork and looked in the very expensive shops and then had lunch at Country Boy Restaurant. Another new restaurant checked off the list.
Melissa and I found a little spot of heaven on earth outside the rare book store. This was the most comfortable porch swing I have ever almost fallen asleep in.
Notes on my family...each member of my immediate family can fall asleep with amazing speed. Brad used to say that he doesn't fall asleep when his head hits the pillow, but rather that he falls asleep on the way to the pillow. That is absolutely me. Don't try to engage me in conversation when I'm in bed. It's over. I'm sleeping. Sleep sucks me and doesn't spit me back out until the morning.
Also, we have some killer veins. My father had huge veins and I've recently noticed that the veins on my hands are becoming more pronounced with age. I used to sit on my Dad's lap and squish his veins for fun and mine are to the point of being able to be played with.
Well, those are the weird facts for the evening. Thanks for tuning in.
