Bruise rainbow

Well hello again. It's been ages and I've been busy. Uncle David and Aunt Kathi came to town which resulted in many fun meals with family along with a work bee at Mom's house cleaning out the garage and dividing up some of Dad's belongings.

This was followed by a flurry of fun activities including riding dirt bikes with my nephews on the farm. There may have been small crash on my part associated with the dirt bikes. Thankfully, my left ankle is just bruised with a large scrape and not crushed or broken. That would have really been a bummer. It seems that I've had enough injuries to know my bruising color pattern a bit too well. I go from brown to black to purple to green to yellow in the same order every time and just happened to point this out to Jared who shared that he doesn't know his bruising pattern and suggested that maybe I am too much of a risk taker. Probably true and probably not going to change. Unfortunately though I have noticed that the fear factor is growing as the years pass. Things that didn't use to bother me in the least have started to cause butterflies in the stomach and I might not have crashed if I hadn't gotten nervous heading into the trail at the farm. Oh well, there is nothing I can do to undo my aging process even if it does result in more adultness than I would choose of my own volition.

In other fun news, Mom and I went to see Alan Jackson at the Ryman auditorium on Wednesday evening. We were on about the 10th row and it was awesome. I love seeing true country greats perform at the Church of Country Music.

I also love people watching at events like this. There are fans and then there are fans. This woman, with the fullest rat tail I have ever seen, was a true fan. Notice that her husband seated beside her has a full mullet to his name.

Sadly, Jared and I don't have any visitors scheduled at this time which is unfortunate since visitors result in treats like this sour cherry cheesecake sundae at Jeni's splendid ice creams. I split this bad boy with Melissa during her visit and wouldn't mind another one. Please come see me so I can eat more treats!

It's chore time around here. It's been one of those weeks where everything breaks at once.
