Country starts early around here, folks.

First things first, war damn eagle. I know, I know, I hear the scoffers in the background saying she's not a real fan. And that's probably true. I'm not a true bleeding-blue-and-orange-the-world-stops-to-watch-the-tigers (i.e. Cam Newton)-play football. However, I married an Auburn fan, I look better in blue than Crimson red, and I wasn't totally pleased with my UA educational experience, so war eagle it is for me. Shove it.

I crossed the state line years ago to begin college at Birmingham-Southern and quickly realized that I needed to pick a team. I wondered about the intense loyalty to a team and begin to observe the Auburn-Alabama rivalry with fascination. Here is an observation from yesterday.

Children are brainwashed at an early age. See below.
This little cutie is sitting in his magical* Auburn jersey enjoying the game at the ripe young age of 14 months.

This little cutie is wearing a sleeveless Alabama shirt and sporting a mullet-like haircut. There are so many things to say about this and I'm not trying to insinuate that Alabama fans are more country than Auburn fans. I only had two children to photograph.

*What is it with everyone believing that their small movements control the outcome of the game? For example, the first little cutie's parents believe that he must be wearing this Auburn jersey in order for orange and blue to win. What happens when he outgrows the jersey. Oh my. Tragedy.
