Scout has a wardrobe, people. She wears her green 'life is good' collar to go out of the house. And now, she has a personalized fleece coat, which also acts as a raincoat. Raise your hand if you have such a coat. Not I! Mom bought it for her and I think mom wants to believe that Scout loves the jacket. I caught a couple of moments when Scout had simply resigned herself to the fact that the velcro was stronger than she and in weird, hard-to-reach paw places. In truth, she rolled around and tried desperately to pull the bright red jacket off of her. Red just isn't my color she cried!
The stockings are hung by the fire with care. The wood is stacked up waiting for the blaze. Except for three little pieces.

We'll call this Scout's play time. This morning I brought in a bundle of wood. Put most of it in the fireplace except for three little logs which I stacked neatly to the side. Scout has been entertained the entire day by these three logs. She is destroying them. I think she's part beaver.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, sits her doggie bed full of chew toys and play toys and plush toys and stuffing-filled toys and no-stuffing toys and ropes and balls and bones. But, no Scout. She's by the fire as I write, chewing away.
It's like children I guess. You buy a kid a nice new toy and all the kid plays with is the box and the bubble wrap.

So, Jared and I went to Petsmart today. To get Scout's picture with Santa. Oh my gosh. I am that person. That person who gets her dog's picture taken with Santa. Scout did great. She didn't wear her coat. I know, I know, red isn't your color and you didn't want to match Santa. No bobsie twins for Scouters.

We went with Jared's mom and got a picture of Scout and Toby together as well. I got two of the pictures of Scout and one of Scout and Toby together. I should have asked. I should have asked beforehand. $30. Thirty dollars!!! Sure, they throw in a dog treat and a cute picture frame, but really! So, if I show up hungry to work, that's why. Spent my money on photos of Scout and Santa. Oh well. Sometimes it's just the memory that matters.

Lucy and Scout have so much in common. The beaver blood is strong.
