The days of swaddling the little boy like a burrito are over. He now rolls all over the crib and mainly sleeps on his side and tummy. He also enjoys some time just playing in his crib with some toys added in for fun.
With the beautiful weather, we've been walking each afternoon. It's the perfect time for a walk because Hunter is winding down and getting tired from a big day with Daddy and either Grammy, Jackie, or Jennifer. He was particularly tired on the afternoon of this photo and seemed to get some comfort from keeping his stuffed animals close.
I went into work late today as Jared had a dentist appointment. We had a beautiful morning in the sunshine. Scout and I sunbathed while Hunter took a nap in the swing. I love his unruly hair with the little comb-over curl in front. I am also smitten by his little dimpled hands that want to reach out and touch everything now.
I was reading a new-to-me blog this week and the writer referenced the following lines from a poem by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton:
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
This has rattled through my head lately when each day seems like a giant to-do list.
In other news, Hunter is six months old today and it's my Dad's birthday. He would be 72 years old today. I still adore this picture of us doing the wave at the Titans game. He was totally, unabashedly into it.
