swoon

What's that? You'd like to see a(nother) photo of my sweet baby? Ok, fine, here he is. Swoon over those chunky thighs and that sweet face.

And just for fun, here is a shot of Mom and Zoe outside Children's Hospital last week. Mom often drops gifts off to me at the hospital (think fresh peaches and cinnamon cake this time) since her home is about 30 miles from mine. She whipped through the pull through at the hospital with the convertible top down working her casual windblown look and smiling puppy dog. It was adorable to say the least.

Melissa visited over the weekend and we had a delightful time going out to eat, making and eating delicious food, playing with Hunter, taking walks, and taking in a Broadway show. The weather could not have been more perfect. And again, I love having visitors because it makes me get out and try new restaurants and do different things. There is so much going on in Nashville that I could never keep up and it's easy to make the excuses of Hunter's early bedtime, money, crowds, etc, but I visitor helps shake things up.

Shook things up for Peanut too. He now loves a good selfie.

Speaking of fabulous food, we made this French toast on my homemade bread topped with peaches, raspberries, and strawberries.

That was followed by a spinach, bell pepper, onion and goat cheese quiche on a cream cheese crust.

That was then followed by flank steak and chicken tacos with pineapple pico de gallo.  I learned how to use our grill during this meal. I'd never fired up our own grill as I'm usually manning the kitchen inside while Jared handles the grill outside. The chicken was perfect and the flank steak was a bit rare, but I learned a lot and got to make use of my headlamp.

Melissa and I rounded out our culinary adventures with a meal at Epice, a Lebanese restaurant (or eleven knees if Alison is not annunciating properly).

Perhaps I should mention that there were also brown butter salted chocolate chip cookies, pops, and scoops of ice cream from Jeni's. It all fit beautifully into a long weekend. I'm grateful.
