dimples

I registered for the baby Bjorn and thought it might be a ridiculous item as it rings in at seventy something dollars. On the contrary, the baby Bjorn is my friend. Hunter used to face inwards and snuggle up against my beating heart and fall asleep. He nows faces outwards and people watches as we  grocery shop and trail after Jared around Academy. The photo below is my first selfie. I felt quite self-conscious and self-absorbed taking a picture of myself in the mirror, but I wanted to capture the moment with Hunter. He caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and smiled, but then got distracted by another shopper.

Hunter and I go to the grocery store each weekend and he's started grabbing the buggy as we move along the aisles. I swear he threw the Ben and Jerry's in the cart too as there is no way on earth that I would have gone for not one, but two pints, of the new core ice creams. I'm going to have to keep a closer eye on that child or soon we'll be eating cinnamon toast crunch and golden grahams for breakfast as happened in my childhood dreams.

The dimples on his hands and elbows simply slay my heart. He's taken to laying his head against mine (or whoever is holding him) as a form of snuggling. I couldn't love it more.

I have a very happy child and for this, I am utterly grateful.
