Jared and I are headed to the hospital tonight. I'll check in at 9pm and the induction will start at 10pm. Here's a photo that Jackie snapped last Friday night as we were all gathered to say goodbye before the family headed out on Spring Break trips.
I'm a mess of feelings right now from excited to nervous! I shed a few tears today over the overwhelmingness (like that word?) of it all.
Jared and I went out for a yummy lunch as our last meal together before we have a child and as my last meal until post-birth. There have been lots of firsts and lasts in my life, but this one feels very defining. I've graduated, moved, gotten married, and bought and sold houses, but there is something very weighty about this last and first. The last night in a house as a married couple without a child, the last meal without another little body present or a babysitter arranged, the beginning of maternity leave that I already sadly know will end.
The next blog will most likely contain photos of my child, my son. Here we go!
