I could really get used to a three day week. I had last Monday off for a snow/ice day and then Friday off to head to Birmingham. I also went in two hours late on Thursday for a doctor's appointment so I really worked about 2.5 days. Yes, yes, I could get used to that!
We showed up in Birmingham around 1pm on Friday and got right down to business playing with Connor and Scout.
There were soccer games with a ball and two goals, but no teams and no rules.
Scout slept like a champ on Friday night after hours of soccer and chasing a four year-old around the yard. And yes, I look really pregnant in that t-shirt. It's the biggest one I own and barely fits.
Connor thinks Uncle Jared hung the moon.
He apparently thinks I'm decently cool as well because he found the one daffodil in the yard, picked its head off, and brought it to me among the rest of the women.
But, Uncle Jared, he was the winner with Connor.
Jared is going to be a great dad. Absolutely great.
The Birmingham shower was lovely. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of family and friends. I'm sure you've been dying to see my "shower pose" with a cute item! Here's a couple of the best. Please notice the diaper cake to my left. It's a teddy bear manning a tank, I think. Adorable and a total pinterest success.
In the following photo please notice my entourage to my left. Carly and Connor kept the show on the road managing the trash and gifts. It's a struggle for a four year-old to understand why one person gets 30 gifts and he gets none.
It was wonderful to see my sweet friends!
All in all, a great weekend. It's gorgeous weather and I loved getting back to an afternoon walk and a dinner meal that doesn't feel like it should occur at 5:30pm because it's so dark.
