Smile. Cheese. Ski.

It was a packed weekend. We ate coconut soup at Surin, sat around a campfire in the woods with friends, watched football, attended a Seik temple with our neighbor friend, Sadhna, ate true Indian food, napped, and played outside in the gorgeous weather!

We also got our pictures made, at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning, downtown on Morris Avenue and 20th Street. I loved every single minute of our time with Allison Lewis, our photographer. She is funny and relaxed and very talented. Jared, on the other hand, did not love every single minute of our photo shoot. I think the lovey-dovey pictures in front of a stranger with a camera made him feel just a little bit awkward. The whole kiss for the camera thing weirded him out. However, I am very grateful to him for going along with this wonderful idea of mine to have our photos made. If you would like an autographed photo, just let us know. We are so cute. Seriously though, our favorite photo is the last black and white one. We're standing in the middle of 20th Street and I think that is so cool.

Most people get in front of the camera and say "Cheese!" or "Smile!" Not in my family. We all get in front of the camera and say "Ski!!!" I guess that's because we love to snowski so much. Speaking of skiing, we are planning our family trip to Sun Valley, Idaho for skiing this year. My father grew up skiing at Sun Valley. He doesn't ski any more and that makes me sad. He was a phenomenal skier with great technique. I don't like it that bodies get old and tired and sick. Don't like it at all.

I swear it has to be Tuesday. I also worked on Saturday morning which always leaves me feeling a bit depleted by Monday morning. It was a full, wonderful, fall weekend. I love the holiday season now that I have a home. I love to decorate my little abode. I have a few pumpkins out front. My neighborhood is full of children and the Halloween decorations around Lexington Park are pretty intense. Trees covered in orange lights. Blow up spiders and skulls. Ghosts hanging from trees. It's pretty awesome. Just wait for Christmas. My blow up Santa will be coming out of the box soon! Tacky at its finest.
