171. Posts that is.

So much going on and so little at the same time. Life is kicking along. We are moving into the fall weather and I love it! Sweater dresses, here I come! The biggest news is that I will be running the women's trauma group at work starting in two weeks. I've been training for two Wednesdays now and I have one more and then it's all me. Each trauma group runs for three full Wednesdays. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I can feel the creative juices starting to flow again which is nice. I have days where I can't bear the thought of another family session over the speakerphone. I came home from the store on Saturday with craft items and lollipops. Jared asked if I was going to lead the trauma group or teach third grade. Probably some of both, actually. It'll be a bit of a learning curve, but will help me develop better group skills and get more familiar with trauma work. This will add to the difficulty of not bringing work home as it will be emotional.

An update on my nephew, Connor. He has finished up his radiation treatments. We are all hoping that he will now start to feel better. It's been a tough time. He hasn't felt good and was fairly grumpy, whereas prior to radiation, he was happy, go-lucky and ready to party. Thank goodness for bubbles and a new bubble machine. We spent many hours popping bubbles and chasing them around the yard. I worry about Connor and the fact that it's so hard for his primary caretakers to discipline him because he's sick. I have an easier time with it, but I'm not around all day every day to witness the pain of the situation and have to constantly face the reality of a brain tumor.

Jared and I are getting our pictures taken on Sunday morning on Morris Avenue downtown. We are going to work multiple outfits and I am going to ham it up for the camera. It's no secret that I do enjoy a good pose for the camera and a fair amount of the spotlight. We are then going to a Hindu temple with my friend, Sadhna, for a blessing ceremony for her son's birthday. How cool is that!? I am honored to be invited as a friend and as a witness to her culture.

It's happened. I felt old. On Monday night at Crunk (the dance workout class). I still loved the class. However, there were about 30 people and I was the oldest. Everyone else was high school or college age. It was an odd experience for me. I wasn't too worried about it because I look about 16 and fit in perfectly.

Well, that's it for tonight. I gotta go take my dentures out and get to bed. It's 8:22pm and this old lady is tired out!
