Brig

So, Brigid and I went to the Blue Spring Manor bed and breakfast for the weekend. As you can see in the photo, we are good pals, even if we have nothing much in common age-wise. This photo was taken after Brigid straightened my hair, which is all the rage in middle school and made my hair flat as a board and helped me look even younger than I already do. Also, Brigid has a beautiful smile, but tries to hide her braces in photo opps. She is very 13 and obsessed with boys and how she looks. I look forward to the day she can find freedom in herself and rest happily in her own confidence. All in all, we had a delightful time eating fancy food, drinking hot tea all day long, and letting someone else make up the room and bring us food.

In other news, my father will not be participating in the hyperbaric oxygen treatment at this time. He apparently has too much circulation in his legs...which is kind of wonderful, but also disappointing as we were all hoping for a miracle with that treatment. So, for the time being, he has both legs wrapped up tightly from the knee down and is actually doing whatever the doctor tells him to do. As many of you know, the Downs family is not great at self-care or following the recommendations of doctors. Strange, I know.
