Hunter notices everything and I have to be very careful with what I do. He pulled my ponytail down the other day and wanted his hair in a ponytail. I showed him in the mirror and he smiled and then pulled the ponytail holder out, gave it back, and moved on.
We spend at least an hour a day playing with his stuffed animals now. We move them around the house, in and out of the crib, and so forth. Funny that stuffed animals have been sitting in his room since day one of life and he just now noticed them and wants to play with every single one of them.
We headed to Birmingham on Wednesday for Christmas. Hunter got to travel in style as we bought a holder for the iPad so that he could watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse. It helped a little bit with the travel time as he does not enjoy being stuck in the car seat. Hunter wants to move every single second that he is awake. I did take the iPad holder down last evening once we got home as Hunter was wanting to watch Mickey every single second that he was in the car, if even for just a two minute trip down the road. We'll try to save that luxury for trips.
The car ride was worth it because we had a ball in Birmingham. Hunter just floated around the room from person to person and activity to activity. He sleep well at night and still came home exhausted.
What I appreciate about Jared's family is their ability to just hang out together all day and do nothing except talk and eat. My family likes to hang out and then go do something which is also fun, but sometimes more challenging with a really little child. So, we talked and ate and played and repeated.
Hunter got some wonderfully thoughtful and fun gifts from family members although he only ever knew that he got the truck (pictured below) on Thursday and then the race track with cars (also pictured below) on Friday. I opened the other presents for him and offered thank-you's. He just couldn't absorb all of the gifts at once.
The holidays came slowly and left in a hurry. Merry Christmas from us!
