the walk of shame

The joys of summer! My brother, Warren, and his family arrived safely in Nashville on Wednesday and headed to see us on Friday afternoon. We spent the weekend trying to avoid a heat stroke.

This is Mike, Ryan, and me trying to dunk Jared. We were, quite obviously, unsuccessful. I think the beard has magical powers.

This little guy is Ryan. He is my buddy. He's talkative and funny and honest.

This is their dog, Hershey, and of course, Scout. Hershey loved Scout very much and chased her around the house a lot. Scout didn't love Hershey as much and played very hard to get by running away. She would bark, however, as soon as Hershey found something else of interest just to lure him back in.

I was really sad to see them go this afternoon. Warren starts his new job tomorrow and they needed to get on the road. It'll be fun to have them just 2.5 hours away by car instead of across the country. By the way, Mike will be turning 13 this winter. Yikes. Teenager alert.

Side note: We went to Alabama Adventure today. I love that redneck palace. However, I did the walk of shame twice today. There's one of those big slides that just drops off and gives one a big wedgie. Well, I walked all of the way up to the top of the stairs and sat on the slide twice and then walked down the stairs instead of sliding. Instead of sliding! I got so much grief from my husband and brother. I have given myself even more grief. I am the dare devil, the adrenaline junkie and I was flat out scared. Yikes. Thirty is approaching more quickly than I had anticipated.
