Beets

It started with this.
Melissa came over last evening for another round of cooking and crafting adventures. We made these little dark chocolate cookies sandwiched around peanut butter frosting. Oh my. Should have made those bad boys a little bit smaller. The sugar overload doesn't hit until it's too late.

We then moved on to dyeing Easter eggs. Naturally. We used chili powder, red cabbage, blueberries, and beets. The red cabbage produced the most wonderful lavender color. Such a fun project using natural products.

We also got creative and wrapped rubber bands around some of the eggs which created fun designs. Ta da!

We then moved on to the most delicious sandwich I've had in a long time. It's a fried egg, blue cheese, bacon, and spinach sandwich on toasted ciabatta rolls. It's smitten kitchen's recipe. She is amazing.

And, here is the little sous chef. Ready to pick up any slack( i.e. crumbs) that may come her way.
Well, I guess we can all tell that I've had a nice three day weekend as I've blogged four days in a row.
