We are home from Gulf Shores. I am looking forward to the upcoming weekend at home. I am totally confused about my days. I noticed that the chic-fil-a was open today and was curious about their policy change as they are usually closed on a Sunday. Oh wait, it's Wednesday, and I haven't been to work yet this week. Strange. I go back on a Thursday morning. Odd to say the least. But, at least it will be a short week.
The following players went to the beach...

Jared, me, mom, and dad.

Karen and Jason.
We hung out on the beach. This is dad reading People magazine. We looked in no less than four stores and were not able to find him a Wall Street Journal, so he had to settle for much more interesting reading.

We played in the water. Mom caught this moment on camera. I'm all about embracing the moment, I suppose.

We went out to eat. A lot. Jared loves the food at the beach. He eats anything that crawls, swims, or backstrokes in the sea. Anything. Plus, he'll it raw, steamed, fried, grilled, or blackened. I usually get the pasta, salad, or hamburger option. It drives him crazy. We do, however, agree on the ice cream at Scoops. Agree 100%. So, at the end of the day, there's that.

We went deep sea fishing. I don't have pictures to capture the tragedy of this day. You will only see the bright, smiling, optimistic faces ready for a full day of fun. You will not see the 4-5 foot swells. You will not see my mother laid out in a chair, clammy and sea sick. You will not see my father laid out on a bench groaning in pain from the pounding of the waves. You will not see me perched over one side of the boat and then the other throwing up my breakfast to the ocean.

You will see Jared's smiling face though. He felt great the whole time and pulled in plenty of fish. This is an amberjack he fought and pulled in the boat. Jared now believes that his family is "better" at the ocean. I guess that's true since Jason, Karen, and he had a great time while my family was laid out or worse. Scout must be from my side of the family. She gets car sick just looking at a car. She would hate deep sea fishing.

Before the "real" fun began.

We did get to have a nice dinner at Mikee's with the fish we caught. Boy, was I hungry!

We posed for pictures. Check out the hand in the pocket, the bent knee, the shirt casually untucked over shorts. Ahh, work it for the camera.

These are my favorites. Occasionally, someone will catch a real moment.

To God be the glory.
