Updates, thoughts, and so on

1. The refrigerator and freezer were both cleaned out on Thursday afternoon. Some of you may know that I adore throwing "stuff" out. However, I feel guilty about throwing food out. Although we lost a few items that I was sad about such as yogurt and cheese, most of the food/condiments/year old popsicles needed to go and I had an excuse. The electricity had been out just long enough to make everything soggy and iffy. Plus, who needs three opened bottles of out-of-date bar-b-que sauce? Not me! Who needs four bags of frostbitten frozen fruit? Not it!

2. I planted the Spring flowers today. Impatients, marigolds, petunias, and vinca. Ahh, I love flowers in my flower baskets and all over the yard and around the mailbox. Makes me happy. Plus, it is a gorgeous day and a far cry from the terrifying storms of this week.

3. Mother's Day is coming up. Don't forget to send a card to your mom. Or you mother-in-law. Do you know how hard it is to find a card, a good card for a new mother-in-law? It's tough.

4. Jared and I received our wedding video yesterday. Probably not as interesting as the royal wedding to everyone else, but we had a fun date night watching our own wedding. My cousin's husband took the video. Most of the background music is bad country. He's not from the south and was trying hard and probably doesn't understand that Rascal Flatts is not true country. However, he did get an Alison Krauss song on there somewhere so he pretty much redeemed himself. Anyway, it's really fun to watch a video of white people dancing. Where did all the rhythm go? We decided that next time we get married to each other, we'll pick a shorter first dance song. Man, that thing went on and on and on. Sorry guys.

5. I watched the last Michael Scott office episode last night. I definitely teared up in sadness and then wanted to punch Will Ferrell in the stomach for doing such a terrible job. That show has been a major part of my life.
