Gratitude
Well, I have the sniffles. That's a nice way to say that I cannot breathe out of my nose at all. Which makes trying to breathe out of my mouth while eating or drinking very difficult. You know the feeling. I started feeling under the weather on Sunday night and am still a little on the down side. Not the down low mind you. I'm not sneaky enough for all that. But, I am trying to be grateful today. Focus on the positive and the positive grows. Same for the negative. Today, I am grateful for a sweet husband. I love coming home in the evening and being in his presence. Even when we're not directly interacting, we're together and that's a wonderful comfort. Today, I am grateful for the coming of Christmas. Normally, I am not a big holiday person, but I am excited about this Christmas. I cannot wait to hang stockings and put a tree and feel festive. I actually have Christmas presents already laid out. Oh yeah, and I'm currently wearing my Christmas present. Hehe. Diamond earrings in my little earlobes. I know, I hear the cries of the people asking for a surprise, asking to wait until at least December for a Christmas present! But, that's not how Jared and I work. We don't really do surprises and yes, his new parka is on the way. Hip hip hooray! I am grateful for a recent good book - 'Cutting for Stone.' It was awesome and I have the author's other book, 'My Own Country,' on the way. Love a good book. I am thankful for homemade food. Last two nights was white bean chicken chili. Tonight and tomorrow are artichoke, spinach, and mushroom lasagna. We'll wrap up the cooking week on Thursday with pumpkin waffles and crispy bacon. I am grateful for Scout who decided to plop down under my feet and take a little siesta. She is quite a joy in my life. So, tonight I am grateful for many things. Including sugar free cough drops that taste like candy and are quite acceptable during counseling sessions.

are you making smitten kitchen's pumpkin waffles? I made those on Sunday. DELISH!
I made the whole batch and froze the leftovers--voila! Eggos!
