Late Christmas and snow days

My side of the family finally got together on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to celebrate Christmas together. Mom pulled out the fancy fine china and we had a lovely meal in the dining room. She still had all of her Christmas decorations up including lights on the outside of the house.

Mom usually gives us each a popper to crack open that gives each person a toy, a crown, and a corny joke. We wear those crowns for real.

We got a sweet family photo and all that is missing is my Dad. Cheers to him on a family well-raised.

Zoe was gifted a Santa outfit that she did not love at all.

But Hunter thought the whole ensemble was hilariously wonderful and gave Zoe a hug to show his delight, thus making her even more miserable than before.

We've had lots of cold, snowy weather this week and I keep taking Hunter out to experience the white fluffy snow. He is well attired as we were gifted all of Mike and Ryan's old snowsuits. Jackie just gave the snowsuits to me this fall and said I didn't have to take them if I didn't think we would need/use them. I figured it didn't hurt to have the warm clothing just in case and this week has been a "just in case" opportunity.

We went to Warren and Jackie's today to sled on their homemade sled out of skis, tubing, and wood pieces. It didn't steer remarkably well, but that just added to the thrill.
Hunter wasn't fond of the snow until this afternoon when he got to play with his uncles and cousins. He took about 5-6 rides down on the sled and joined in the snowball fight.

Post-play recovery with Hershey dog and some chips.

Hunter is napping now, but needed to give the giant chic-fil-a cow (won for me at a silent auction by my Dad) a hug prior.

I'm thankful today for a warm house with hot water and a pantry that holds extra food for times when the anticipated grocery store trip is delayed a couple of days. Good for making us eat everything we bought at the store and then decided we didn't really want!
