Lately

Hunter just took things up a notch. We had our house "baby proofed" and he then moved on to toddler land and nothing is safe any more. He can open any door with the childproof cover that baffles most adults. He can climb any where he wants to go. He even climbed in the very narrow cabinet to the left of the sink (see below) and discovered a hole between that cabinet and the one under the sink. We have had the under the sink cabinets securely latched for many months (and he hasn't gotten those open yet), but all he needed was time. He can now reach through the hole and get whatever he wants from under the sink. We are going to run out of higher places to put things and may have to move on to bolts on all doors.

We had our fabulous babysitter come in for a week so I could work a couple of long days while Jared was in school. Hunter adores Grandma and they play hard all day and then both go to bed at 7pm.

I love this picture because it is a glimpse of real life with Hunter. He's sitting in my lap eating a spicy trail mix with Scout eyeing him hopefully for a bite. I love that little cubby cheek and those long eye lashes.

I watched my friend's son for a bit on Tuesday afternoon and they had a ball together as long as we were outside. Spray bottles filled with water are amazing toys. They sprayed each other, sprayed themselves, sprayed me, sprayed the metal flowers.

We then went next door to watch the workmen tear up a driveway with a bobcat (aka truck). They loved it to pieces although their faces are less than photogenic in this snapshot.

I work again tomorrow. Work makes me appreciate home and home makes me appreciate work!
