Go forth with joy!

Happy happy New Year! Melissa and I wrapped up 2015 with a Taize service including a Labyrinth walk that I have always wanted to do. It was powerful and meaningful. I walked out with the phrase "Go forth with Joy" all over my brain and I hope to do that this year of 2016. We then headed home to bake up brown butter, chocolate chunk, and sea salt cookies to munch on while quoting "Parks and Recreation" with Jared. It was a perfect ending to a year.

We were joined on New Year's Day by Natalie and Adrian and we all went out for a delicious meal at Amerigo's.

Today was followed by additionally delicious food at Hattie B's hot chicken. I'm thankful that Melissa and I split a meal so that we could have a Las Paletas treat afterwards. Hunter enjoyed the French fries and upbeat music at Hattie B's and loved that there were many people waiting for a table so the meal moves quickly.

Tomorrow Jared and I are hosting a shrimp boil for his classmates and then he heads back to the classroom on Wednesday. It has been a full week and a half of visiting family and hosting friends in our home. We have reserved Monday and Tuesday for some errand running and yard work, but I would love to crawl into bed and come out in a few days after some rest and movie watching!
