I am the cliche and the embodiment of every other parent out there. "My kid is so smart." Yep, I think this all the time. Hunter is so freaking smart, for real though guys! I really think that kids are simply watching and absorbing everything while adults often underestimate their abilities. Hunter obviously paid attention to how I turn on the faucet when he takes a bath because that he stood up in the tub last night and turned on the water and then turned it off and then on and well, you get the picture. It's fun to watch his world come together piece by piece as he figures things out.
I've always heard that kids love the pots and pans in the kitchen. Seriously, the pots and pans are Hunter's dream toys right now. They make a satisfying crash when he bangs the lids all
cymbal-like on the floor and a horrific screeching sound when he pushes the lids across the tiles.
Hunter can destroy a room in mere moments. It truly is impressive. I snapped a couple pictures as we were leaving the kitchen after dinner to head up to bathtime. Not only did I have various pots strewn about on the counter from cooking in a hurry to get dinner on the table, but there was tupperware everywhere.
Not to mention, a couple of kid-size forks, a wet paper towel on a chair, five water bottles on the counter (??), a happy birthday hat that never got worn because a certain someone was falling apart, a stack of unopened mail, half of an avocado remain (wish I had videoed Hunter's face trying avocado as he is so not a fan), a grill basting brush, and some towels hung here and there to dry.
If there is one thing I struggle with, it is the mess, the constant mess. Thankfully, Jared cleaned up the kitchen while I read stories to Hunter. I won out on that deal.
