game cameras

I'm very proud of that blue cake I made. Check it out! Three layers of blue with a soft color sandwiched in the middle. The cake is actually quite delicious as long as one can forget about the bottle of food coloring that went into it. And let me tell you, there is more icing on that cake than you might think possible but it's actually quite difficult to conceal blue layers of cakey goodness.

I haven't even mentioned yet that the baby is healthy so far. The twenty week ultrasound was terribly frightening to me as that's when many of my NICU parents found out that something was wrong with their child. I found myself holding my breath during the ultrasound last Monday afternoon. Thankfully, the bill of health came back clean.
I just keep popping the vitamin D supplements and prenatal vitamins every day. The day that I can quit taking prenatal vitamins will not be one day too soon as I can literally taste fish oil for hours after each ingestion.  I try to time it just right so that I take the vitamins with food, but as close to bed as possible. Jared would probably tell you that this isn't all that difficult since I'm always having something to eat lately. Speaking of which, my pants are becoming woah-snug. I made it to the halfway point in regular clothing and the maternity pants are coming soon. The pajama pant/yoga pant afternoons are sweet relief each day. I used to wear my pager on my pants lining, but it was pressing into my skin so badly each day that I had to switch to wearing the pager on my pant pocket.
Pregnancy is simply the weirdest thing. My body has literally been taken over. I'm either hungry or stuffed. I pee on a very, very regular basis. I'm happy-go-lucky one day and ticked off the next. I'm gaining weight with and without my permission. I go through cycles of energy and exhaustion. (I just noticed that I was barely blogging once a week during the early months of my pregnancy back when I could hardly stay awake after work.) I spent one week limping around in the morning because I had cramps so badly in my right leg. It's all just weird.

We're naming our little boy Hunter Lee Wilson. Lee is Jared's family name and we just like the name Hunter.

Speaking of hunting, I was looking through photos the other day and came across this one of a turkey. This is what happens when you're married to a hunter. I end up with hundreds of pictures on my computer from Jared's game cameras. The photos list the date, time, temperature, and often show great pictures of animals. This might be the poor turkey that Jared grilled out yesterday for Thanksgiving. The other turkeys were simply "harvested" at Publix.

Good night!
Jared, Alison, Hunter, and Scout
