Well, it has been a busy, wonderful several days. Amy came into town on Tuesday evening and spent the night prior to heading out on Wednesday to see her family for the holiday. I walked with Sadhna on Wednesday afternoon. I worked briefly on Thursday morning and then Jared and I spent the afternoon with his Pop's family and a large, tasty, carb-filled meal. I worked briefly on Friday morning and then went on a walk with Sadhna before going out to eat at an Indian buffet downtown. It was delicious and Sadhna filled me in on all the names of the food. Have you ever had the little Indian doughnuts in honey? Oh my goodness. I would forsake all of the Thanksgiving dinner for a small bowl of those doughnuts. After that, Jared and I met up with other Jeep people in Birmingham. There were four other guys with jeeps and we ate dinner and then stood around in the parking lot for a long time while the guys mooned over each other's jeeps and talked about ways to make their jeeps even cooler. It was an interesting social experience. On Saturday morning, I walked with Sadhna and then Jared and I went over to Karen and Jason's to watch the miserable Iron Bowl. Thankfully, Jason cooked wings and there were yummy cookies to accompany the second half. Then, Amy showed back up at our house and the three of us sat outside by the firepit and talked and tried not to get burned by the sparks that were flying everyone due to the wind. Finally, we met Amy's father for breakfast this morning prior to taking Amy back to the airport. Whew! What a fun-filled party time. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow! I had two blissful days of working 8-11am in blue jeans and then leaving! What will I do tomorrow working from 8-4:30? Whaaaa!!!
It's been pouring down rain here today and poor Scout is still soaking wet from the last time she ventured outside to use the bathroom. It's 4:30pm and almost dark. I'm already feeling sleepy!
I hope your Thanksgiving was blessed. Mine sure was.
