Storytime

Sometimes I feel like a kid playing grown up. Jared and I took Scout for a walk today. We did this after coming home from grown-up jobs. Oh yes, and the home is a building on a plot of land that we own or at least pay a lot of money for each month. We then went to visit Nana at the rehabilitation center. Nana is Jared's paternal grandmother and she recently broke her hip. We stopped and got Nana some treats at the store and took Scout along for the visit. I don't know. There are just days when I'm amazed that I'm a grown up. And days, when I glance over my shoulder and wonder if anyone will notice that I'm just pretending, just waiting to be called inside for dinner and then tucked into bed with a story. I'm not sure when all this happened in my life. When I got a real job, got married, started paying car payments and mortgage bills, started visiting loved ones in need of my own accord, started watering the flowers, started buying the flowers in the first place, started walking the dog, and making appointments. There are days when I am grateful for the freedom of adulthood and days that I long for the freedom of childhood.

On a completely different note...Jared played a practical joke at work yesterday. He showed up at work early with a moustache, certain attire, and sat just so with his lunchbox on the table. In came coworker, Fred with a moustache, certain attire, and a tendency to sit just so with his lunchbox on the table. You can see the two buddies below.
