going to the chapel

So, I was in a wedding. It was a good weekend. A mixed bag of emotions. I was in a series of weddings when I was younger. I was a flower girl several times, a maid of honor for my mom's best friend, a junior bridesmaid, and a bridesmaid in both of my brothers' weddings. But, that was years ago. This was my closest friend to get married and it was just plain weird. I can't believe that we are old enough to make commitments like this! I think they will have a good marriage and I was honored to be part of the ceremony. Everyone looked beautiful and handsome. My mother worked the reception room like a butterfly while my father worked the dance floor with his bow tie on. Donnovin got down in his velvet blazer and Jared danced with me for a couple of hours because he has a crush on me. The strapless dresses looked great on everyone and didn't budge too much. The fruit bowls were plentiful and I was well fed.

Oh yes, and then there was this in the reception hall where we ate delicious bar-b-que at the rehearsal dinner. We are still against the Nazis, just in case there was any confusion.

So, received two calls yesterday, one right after the other. One from a parent stating that his child is doing wonderfully in recovery. One from a grandfather stating that his grandson has disappeared. Oh, recovery and relapse.

Thanks for making me laugh at the end of crazy day! It was great to talk to you this morning. Thanks for listening and being a wonderful friend on this journey of life.

How did I not notice that artful little banner in the reception hall?

I agree about this craziness of friends making big life decisions. I mean, whoa, take it easy, folks and let's just all slow things down a little bit... here's a cup of tea to think things over.
