It has been a full week. Hunter and I wore out the town on our activity-seeking adventures. There are so many fun things to do with a toddler and we didn't even spend any money since we were gifted a couple of memberships for birthday presents recently.
Hunter and I ventured to Barnes and Noble on Wednesday morning. It was the perfect time to go as the children's area was deserted. Hunter loved the train table and the books and the stuffed animals and every other toy there. Thankfully, Hunter is still young enough that he doesn't feel (or at least express) any sadness over leaving all of the new toys behind. It's enough to just play for awhile and then go home.
My mom and Jackie joined Hunter and me at the zoo on Thursday morning. Hunter loved feeding the birds and playing in the cave. He also like watching the construction machinery move dirt around. He didn't care for the big animals in the distance (elephants, giraffes, monkeys).
He did not care for the carousel much and wanted to exit as soon as possible. I think he was more bored with going around in circles than scared.
Today, Grandma and I ventured to a little farmer's market. Lo and behold, there were little baby buggies and Hunter took off with one. He didn't put anything in the buggie, but was happy to drive it recklessly around the store in between eating a green bean in the manner that one nibbles an ear of corn and smelling the peaches.
We then headed to another farmer's market which comes complete with a tractor with wheels that spin in the wind and a pin full of goats and ponies.
We had our own petting zoo of which Hunter was unsure until Grandma led the way and petted the goat. He was then totally in and petted each goat who happened by and stuck their head through the fence for some attention.
What a week it has been! I am physically tired this week as we essentially do combined toddler/mother crossfit all day, every day now. I'm thinking of starting a new business in which an individual takes care of Hunter for an hour and then pays me a small sum of money for the great workout achieved. Win for the individual's workout, win for the rested mother (me!) , and win for Hunter who would get a new burst of energy each hour. Win/win/win.
