Life in the new house continues at a furious and fun pace. We've had lots of visitors.
Karen and Roy arrived the day after move-in and brought with them more of our stuff/junk/belongings from Birmingham. When Jared and I moved into our Gardendale home we had one small trailer full. That was it. All the furniture, clothes, and stuff that we owned. We now have mountains. It took a 20' Uhaul and two trailer loads to get everything moved from one city to another. I suppose this is just how adult life works. However, I have wondered about those boxes we've been putting in the attic. If they're already headed to the attic, do we really need the contents? Yet, we don't want to let go of yearbooks and beautiful curtains that fit another space in another house. I just can't imagine moving after living somewhere for 40 years, especially if you're moving into a smaller space. And I even like to throw things away!
Anyway, Roy and Hayden climbed to the top of our big Oak tree in the backyard. It was quite impressive.
I am a daredevil by nature, but prefer to stick with William on the lower branches for tree climbing.
We took Karen and Roy out to the farm and took pictures by the caboose. I've always loved a picture in front of the bright red caboose.
We've also had a spend the night party with Mike and Ryan followed by a weekend visit with Grandma and Pop. Our latest visitor was Hershey.
In other news, Jared made his first bow kill and we just had venison stew over mashed potatoes. I went bow hunting this morning. Jared and I didn't see a single deer, but had a good time hanging out in the blind together. It was beautiful weather and the sunrise was lovely.
I've figured out the commute to work. I can either leave home at 6:45am or 8am and make it to work in 45 minutes. I can leave work at 3:45pm and make it home in 45 minutes. Any other times can be major traffic jams. If you wanna chat, those are ideal times for me!
