Jared and I experienced terrible bookends to a wonderful weekend. We started out on Friday night with a miserable group dance lesson followed by a wonderful evening with two of my now-married high school friends. Ryan was baptized on Saturday evening in Brad and Jennifer's pool in a sweet ceremony performed by "Pappy" who also dedicated Ryan to God many years ago. Warren, my nephews, and I honored our mother on Sunday by using her new badminton set in the cool Spring weather. Jared and I closed out the weekend with a long night at the school sports banquet. I don't mind clapping for each child as they get a certificate and trophy, but let's skip the speaker, shall we, or at least give him a time limit?
There is nothing like a good high five to celebrate life and green grass and shady trees and family and lazy Sunday afternoons.
