Tom

I've had busy days lately. There have been soccer games for the nephews, cookouts at the farm, and swings at the batting cages mixed in with chores and busy work days. Self-care has disappeared and I am seriously in need of some down time. I love the flurry of activity, but quickly come apart if I don't have some moments of quiet for reading, writing, walking, and intentional eating.

Jared with his Tom turkey. You may notice that he's not in camouflage from head to toe with paint on his face. He's spent many hours at the break of day in the woods hunting turkey to no avail. Today, he and Warren were driving onto the farm when they came across this large bird. Jared hopped out of the jeep, grabbed his gun, and shot the poor fellow. So much for the money we've both spent on camo gear. Next time we'll just ride around noisily in the jeep showing our pasty white skin and wait for the turkeys to show up for dinner - our dinner that is.

In other news, Scout met her boyfriend, Rambo, at Petsmart and had a couples salon date. Rambo lives next door and loves to dash through the hedge to visit his love.

Well, I'm off to sleep. This little one already beat me to the dreams.
