Duck dynasty lives in my house. My husband, Jared (fits in well with Jase and Jep), turned 26 on Sunday and celebrated with a duck hunting trip with the boys.
Back row left to right is Mike (nephew), Michael (cousin), Warren (brother), and
Jared (handsome husband).
Front row is dead duck, dead duck, dead duck...you get the picture.
They also killed one large goose. I just figured out how to make the most delicious venison stew and now I'm off to google duck and goose recipes. Something about goose just seems yucky. They're such mean creatures who poop absolutely everywhere. However, chickens are probably pretty dirty creatures and I eat chic-fil-a with total abandon.
Michael is quite the comedian and shook hands with this poor little duck prior to butchering. Thanks for your sacrifice duck. Thanks for playing the game.
Mike wished that he still got to have show and tell in the eighth grade. Yes, a big dismembered goose wing is interesting and somewhat shocking which is something that eighth grade boys go for.
Ironically, I ate at a vegetarian restaurant on Sunday called the Wild Cow. It was delicious! I love that Nashville has a vegetarian restaurant. Birmingham just wasn't really "there" yet.
Well, it's Tuesday and I'm just exhausted. The job is overwhelming right now. I'm sure it will get better. Did I mention that I found the lost pager? Yes, I did. It was, ahem, in my purse in a pocket that I never use and have never used. All this confession to say that I should have just left it lost. That thing goes off constantly.
Eight more days and then I'm off to Snowmass to snowski. I like the whole work one month, take a week off thing. Of course, I also liked the whole not work for a month and just hang out and play thing and we all know that schedule came to an abrupt end!
