There have been many exciting things over the last week.
1. I got the job at Vanderbilt! Woot woot! I'll be a social worker in the NICU. I start on January 7 and I get to take the ski vacation in February! Get this, it'll actually be paid time off because I'll borrow vacation days from the future.
2. I thought I was going to get paid for 6 vacation days from Bradford and found out on Friday that I actually had 11 days built up. So, I'm on vacation from Bradford for 6 more business days. I love that.
3. I'll only be out of paid working days for 9 days. That's not bad. I left a job on Friday and got an official job offer on the following Friday.
4. I started piano lessons. Hooray. I love playing the piano. It's sad though to learn how much information I have forgotten over the years.
5. Hayden's birthday is today. He's 11 years old. Stop it. I took Hayden and William out for ice cream on Thursday to celebrate. Here's the 11 year old.
And, here's his younger brother. William can tear up an ice cream with mix-in's and a fancy, chocolate covered cone. But then again, who can't tear up an ice cream like that when given childlike permission to not worry so much about the size, shape, appearance, and weight of one's body?
6. I spent the night at Warren and Jackie's house. Mike, Warren, and Jared are duck hunting this weekend so I got in lots of time with Ryan. We made breakfast this morning. It was delicious and that's a Christmas tree pancake you see in the pan.
This is Ryan eating a burrito with one hand and a piece of pizza with the other. Nice. Back to that childlike permission thing...
7. I'm getting to spend wonderful time with family and friends. I walked with my lovely friend, Rachel, on Friday at Radnor. What could be better?
8. Did I mention that I got the job I wanted at the place I wanted in the time frame that I so hoped for and that I still get to go on the ski vacation in February? I'm feeling totally blessed.
