It has been an affirming week thus far. I've had two male physician patients look me in the eye with tears in their eyes and thank me for helping them. I even received this fruit-loop-on-floss bracelet from one of them. He has an assignment to do a collage on body image issues. (It's fun to have intellectualizing patients do assignments with crafts.) He is totally doing the assignment and giving his primary counselor and me a hard time about it. He didn't have any macaroni noodles so he went with cereal. This wouldn't have happened 11 weeks ago. He wouldn't have felt comfortable enough with us to joke about something, but now, after 11 weeks he feels comfortable enough to laugh about his flaws, build on his strengths, and be real with us about his humanity.
What a gift these two men gave me with their gratitude. Plug along for another day.

That's a very special bracelet indeed. Glad you took a picture of it. Maybe it should keep it in a special place on those days where you wonder why, why, why. ;-)
