2012

It is gorgeous here today. Really warm and sunny. I worked this morning and I had each patient write a letter of intent for 2012. It was a neat exercise and they were really creative and insightful. I even had some drawings and poetry.

I am grateful today for the fun of 2011. I skied with family in Utah, fished with family in Utah, visited Amy in Detroit, visited Natalie in North Carolina, went to the beach with family. I am grateful for new friends in 2011. I met two neighbors, Sadhna and Kelly, who have become good friends. I am grateful for the continued life of Connor Wilson and the clean MRI on his last visit. I am grateful for a handsome husband, a sweet dog, and a cozy home. I am grateful for new opportunities at Bradford running the trauma group and providing supervision to a coworker.

I hope to accomplish several things in the coming year. First, I want to remember birthdays of family and friends and acknowledge those with a call, card, or gift. Second, I want to train Scout. Third, I want to exercise every other day and participate in some sporting activities such as new classes at the civic center or some races. Fourth, I want to continue to paint and create craft items and then be involved in an art show. Fifth, I want to blog on a regular basis of twice a week. Sixth, I want to be trained as a grief specialist and get trained in EMDR (a trauma therapy). Seventh, I want to attend some taize services. Eighth, I want to step out of the family gossip. Ninth, I want to speak my truth as bravely as possible.

I hope to be intentional in the next year. I hope to be purposeful with my thoughts and actions.
