Amy Brown

Amy will have trouble when she gets married. Why? Because she is often know as "Amy Brown" and not just "Amy." Try it. "What's up, Amy Brown?" "Amy Brown's in town."
Amy and I have made top ten lists for each other since college. Amy's latest top ten list for me was the one she shared at the rehearsal dinner about why Jared and I will have a great marriage.
Amy came to visit over the weekend. Drum roll please....

Top Ten list of Amy Brown's visit to Birmingham, Alabama

1. We went to Pepper Place market on Saturday morning and bought the most scrumptious peaches I have had in years. Slurpin' arm drippin' good peaches. From non-other than Chilton County. Where else?
2. We discovered a new shop full of junk and found 5 supercool window panes for me to paint.
3. We rediscovered a store full of iron creations. I now have four cool metal flowers decorating the entrance to the house.
4. Scout loves Amy. Adores Amy. Tries to get in the bathroom, the bedroom, the car to be with Amy. I seriously saw the little hearts shooting out of Scout's eyes as she tried to get Amy's attention.
5. Amy and I continued our tradition of picking terrible movies. Each time we're together we pick out a new movie to watch and it's awful. 'The break up" with Jennifer Anniston was one. This time it was "Four weddings and a funeral." What a terrible film. We just can't help ourselves.
6. Food. I have to put this as one item, otherwise it would take up the entire list. Homemade bar-b-que chicken pizza with smoked gouda cheese. Full moon bar-b-que. Hush puppies at Bryan's seafood. Hey dude pizza at Mellow Mushroom. The aforementioned peaches. Fresh salsa on everything. Splenda tea. Yogurt mountain. Hurry up and eat so we can eat again.
7. I now have blue flowered earrings and a blue water bottle.
8. Getting to see Amy's signature hand movements while she talks. Normally, we talk in the morning on the way to work so I have to imagine the hand movements as I'm in Birmingham and she's in Detroit.
9. Amy and Jared get along famously. I toast to them with water as they drink sweetwater blue.
10. Amy is my best friend. She was the best maid of honor I could have ever hoped for. She is kind and generous. She is loyal.
