new shoes

Happy Mother's Day! We celebrated with my family with brunch at the country club. Hunter started out smiling and then quickly got overwhelmed when everyone was moving everywhere. I realized it was the most crowded, active place he'd ever been. A typical restaurant has lots of people, but the servers are the primary people in motion. These rooms were filled with servers and patrons flittering about with food and dirty dishes.

Hunter did score a cookie from my mom and enjoyed that treat.

I snapped this picture one morning shortly after Hunter had woken up. He was just cracking me up with his hair going in every direction. And I totally, absolutely adore the fact that he is not self-conscious in the least right now. He never wonders if someone wants him around when he crawls over to play. He is just totally in the moment and in tune with his own needs and desires.

We visited Jackie, Mike, and Ryan tonight. Here is my very big boy looking somewhat smug for the camera. I put him in these little shoes for the first time ever. It didn't go that well for Hunter as he couldn't walk with ease. So back to bare feet he went.

Hooray for Friday. I was on call last weekend so I am grateful for this weekend break to really get away from the hospital. I have very few plans and that sounds about perfect.
