I have been absent for almost two weeks. It's been a long couple of weeks with lots of work, sickness on my part, and activities. Last weekend we went to Birmingham and visited Jared's family and we are currently enjoying the company of Natalie and Adrian this weekend.

Scout was having a bad day. She's just not a fan of the commercialized love holiday of February 14 and was feeling like a third wheel in this family. She's since recovered with the help of puperoni.
And a little blast from the past. This was years ago and who knows why we do what we do in the Downs family? In my family it's just not abnormal to stick nerf gun darts to your forehead and then fall into hysterics over our own jokes. It's a good thing in a family. You'll see that Ryan's check is showing off snow burn from a fall he took skiing that year.
It is a time of putting one foot in front of the other in the long days and enjoying the fun activities as they joyfully arrive on the scene.
I have missed this guy tremendously as of late.
